Name and website changes at IPUMS

The IPUMS Team has some upcoming changes!
Exciting changes are coming to IPUMS. Over the next week, we will launch updated websites for all our data projects as well as new features on our portal, ipums.org.
Along with the new look of these sites, some of our projects have new names. Now all our projects are IPUMS projects: they deliver census and survey data from around the world integrated across time and space.
Don’t be confused by the new names and the new look: we’re still offering the same free data and data tools. Website navigation and extraction remain the same. We recommend you visit the new ipums.org. We have made it easier to access all our data projects and to find video tutorials, online learning modules, and assistance from IPUMS staff. You will also find information on events and workshops, a blog feed, and social links to make it easier for you to stay connected with IPUMS.

2017 ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research

The ICPSR Summer Program provides basic and advanced instruction across a wide range of methodologies and techniques for research in the social, behavioral, and health sciences. Our courses emphasize the integration of methodological strategies with the theoretical and practical concerns that arise in research on substantive issues.
In 2017, the ICPSR Summer Program is offering more than 80 courses in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and other cities across the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia. To view our full schedule and register, visit icpsr.umich.edu/sumprog

Four-Week Sessions
An immersive learning experience, our four-week sessions allow you to focus on developing new methodological tools while building a community of friends, collaborators, mentors, and future colleagues. Our four-week courses cover introductory, intermediary, and advanced instruction in almost every area of methodology, from basic statistics to advanced Bayesian analysis and advanced multilevel modeling. Our four-week sessions also feature supplemental lectures and talks on important professional topics, such as data reproducibility, research transparency, and methodological issues related to the study of race, ethnicity, and gender. Our four-week sessions take place in Ann Arbor, Michigan; in 2017, the First Session runs from June 26 to July 21, and the Second Session runs from July 24 to August 18.

Short Workshops
For those wanting to learn a specific methodological technique in just a few days, the ICPSR Summer Program will offer more than 40 short workshops from May through August in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and other cities around the world. The 2017 short workshop schedule includes a wide range of quantitative courses, from introductory-level material to advanced, cutting-edge statistical techniques, as well as workshops on strategies for reproducing research results, machine learning, qualitative and mixed research methods, the R statistical computing environment, and text analytics.

SCHOLARSHIPSICPSR scholarships provide a tuition waiver of registration fees for the ICPSR Summer Program. The application deadline for all 2017 ICPSR scholarships is Friday, March 31, 2017.
